Three types of instructional seminars offered by ImagePrep Seminars and will be available August 2009: beginning with Accurate Color Basic, an abbreviated overview of the topics of light and color as they relate to digital pictures, the Accurate Color Baseline Seminar is an in-depth tutorial on digital photography and personal printing, and the Accurate Color Digital Print Seminar Series is an advanced course on shaping and color correcting digital images specifically for digital printing.

Online Courses
Accurate Color Basics seminars are half-day seminars aimed at teaching and reinforcing the two most critical issues presented in the Accurate Color book. This three-hour overview course is an absolute must for anyone involved in color digital photography who desire to publish their pictures accurately.

The Accurate Color Baseline Seminar covers the same materials as those found in the Accurate Color book, and is available as a fast-paced four-session, full-day seminar.

Each seminar session includes a printed overview of the materials presented. The Baseline seminars are ideal for photo clubs, scrapbookers, art departments, and individuals who prepare digital images for personal publishing via the Internet or ink jet printing.

Regardless of whether images are being prepared for personal printers, service bureaus, or large format printers, these seminars clarify the critically important issues of tonality and color that must be addressed before accurate color reproduction can take place on any level.

Anyone wishing to gain control over their color printing is encouraged to attend one of these seminars.

The three expressions of the eye above demonstrate the transpostional challenge of capturing a scene and preparing it to reproduce accurately for specific purposes. Back away from your computer about ten feet and look at the three pictures again to understand how illusion becomes reality.

Sponsored SeminarsThe Accurate Color Digital Print Seminar Series is an extended-curicculum, multi-day workshop that presents an easy-to-understand practical methodology for preparing images specifically for digital printing. Practical color management truths and techniques are explained in detail over a two-day period.

This series of seminars are company-sponsored training sessions designed to educate and equip your employees and your clients specifically about your workflow and your equipment.

Here's how it works... Every customer expects stellar results from their printed projects, but few understand how to adjust their images for excellent tonal range and true color fidelity on press. Trusting press-ready materials from non-litho people is a bit like entrusting your newborn baby to a bachelor. In either case, some basic training in the essentials is seriously recommended.

Poorly prepared images result in lacklustre results and disappointed customers. This seminar instructs your clients how to correctly prepare their digital image files for specific presses and your shop papers before they get to you. What a concept!

The transitions that images go through from original photo-to digital press is explained thoroughly and augmented with actual printed examples. This seminar will teach your customers how to prepare their images for print accurately, exhibiting optimal detail and color fidelity.

Before DTP became what it is today, the graphic arts community was comprised of design professionals who dealt with the printing trade on a nearly daily basis.

Twenty years ago photographs destined for print were most often shot by professional photographers and delivered to the printer either as medium format transparencies or airbrushed prints.

Pre-press was routinely handled by photoengravers and seasoned lithographers within the printing company or within an independent trade color separation house.

But things have changed. Now, anybody with a digital camera and a computer can supply materials directly to the printer.

Unfortunately, in spite of all the digital camera courses and Photoshop seminars, very little content directly addresses the preparation of digital images for today's digital presses. This information vacuum often results in high expectations but disappointing results.

All that is about to change...
